    Consultant Neurologist, Lead for the Movement Disorders

    After graduating from high school in her home town in the South of Italy, Dr Mastrolilli moved to Rome to study Medicine at Universita’ Campus Bio-Medico.

    Since the beginning her medical studies, she developed a keen interest in “brain diseases” and at the end of a 6-year university course she became a resident in Neurology.

    Dr Mastrolilli developed an interest in Movement Disorders and spent the following 5 years in improving and implementing this specialist service at University Campus Bio-Medico.

    Moving to London in 2012 (where she originally worked as neurology registrar in the Neurology/Stroke Department at King’s College Hospital) she then worked as Locum Consultant Neurologist in different Trusts until January 2016, becoming a Substantive Consultant Neurologist at Croydon University Hospital/St George’s Hospital.

    Currently, Dr Mastrolilli is the Lead for the Movement Disorder Service at Croydon University Hospital with a special interest in tremors and Parkinson’s disease. She also leads a multidisciplinary team formed by therapists based in the community (Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists) and other professionals involved in the care of patients affected by Movement disorders including PD specialist Nursing, Elderly Care Consultants, Neuropsychiatrists, and Palliative Care Consultants.
